My focus as a doula is helping you prepare for and enter your birth from a place of peace. Whether you are here for prenatal education, birth, or postpartum care, at HCDC you will receive professional support from a fellow Christian mother and your sister in Christ.
There is a growing focus on supporting new mothers in the immediate postpartum period, and it is wonderful to see the growing resources in this area. What about the season of stretching, growing, and preparing for birth that is your first 3 trimesters though?
HCDC also offers prenatal Doula care to support mothers at any point in their pregnancy. Whether you are looking for a friend and companion to help you prepare your mind, body, and heart for a healthy pregnancy in your first trimester, or you are needing some household help while going through a season of morning sickness, prenatal doula care could be valuable support.
This service exists to provide professional support to mothers who could use an objective helping hand as they navigate the journey of pregnancy.
Hourly Prenatal Care
$30/hour (2-hour minimum)
Information and assistance in prenatal nutrition
Help with managing morning sickness and other pregnancy symptoms (insomnia, round ligament pain etc.)
Assistance in creating an appropriate exercise/physical labour preparation regime
Light household help
Sibling care
Meal preparation
Education and informational resources for birth preparation
Education and informational resources for newborn care
Breastfeeding education
Help with preparing safe sleep environments

Is prenatal doula care available for all trimesters of pregnancy?
Yes! Prenatal support is available in any trimester, and offers an opportunity to form a relationship with your doula who you may also want to receive birth
and/or postpartum support
from us as well.
Is prenatal doula care different than prenatal education classes?
Yes. We can cover lots of childbirth and newborn education in prenatal visits but this type of care is directed to maternal pregnancy support and does not replace a thorough childbirth education class. HCDC also offers private and customizable childbirth education classes virtually
or in-person.
